As a kid I saw a movie with endless beaches, quiet jungles, shallow turquoise water and fishes, so many weird, colourful fishes. It was like a virtual production for someone who was raised in the mountains. In time I got to realise this is a place and not just a fantasy land and for sure I was going to taste this wonder!
Being here unveiled that all was a lie, the actual scenery is even more spectacular: the sand on the beach is so fine and white incomparable to anything I know, the water is hot as a soup and blue as an infant’s eyes and the breeze, awwww, the cooling breeze fits just perfectly with the hot weather.
We were fooled to think that was heaven and we died, but then loads of boats anchored the bay; it seems we were not the only ones to see that movie, as the beach got so crowded and the noise had us retreat to the back of the small jungle.
We enjoyed a lot the snorkelling tours and the rides with the long-tail boats, lunches on the Phi Phi Don island and the huge monolithic “flying” rocks, but in the end what took my breath away was the view, unique and wild.
Reviewing the movie at the end of the day was only natural, it offered a lot of perspective since we were THERE already!
P.S: “The Beach”.
